Growing up, I noticed how society has been conforming to this mindset (coming from inappropriate and sarcastic portrayal in television shows and movies, or needless to say, what Hollywood dictates to us, that to teenagers, minors and such), that drug-use translates to social graces. Minors always have had this notion that drugs can help them have a sweet escape from life’s abomination.
Do you think influencing youth to quit drugs or at least influence others to prevent them from using drugs could get a chance by means of new media? Or could it only be taken for granted just because new media is all-knowing and can be taken for granted because it’s almost too mainstream? Who else can influence society aside from celebrities, politicians, local heroes, family members…or at least strangers you see over the internet, maybe?
