Playboy Playmate Actress Shauna Sand Visits Marijuana Collective

Shauna Sand, ex-wife of Actor Lorenzo Llamas gives a whole new look to designer fashion in tie-die and peace signs as she visits this local medical marijuana collective in Los Angeles today. Shauna began her modeling career with Elite at the age of 15. Her beauty is obvious, but few people know that Sand earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business Administration from The American University of Paris.

Sand was married to actor Lorenzo Lamas from 1996 until their divorce in 2002; they have three daughters together. She later married 25-year-old Laurent Homburger in January 2011 but filed for divorce four months later. She requested a restraining order against Homburger after a fight between the couple on May 18 that resulted in two arrests. Shauna was accused of felony domestic violence and Homburger was charged with spousal battery and criminal threats.

Her acting career began on the television show “Renegade” where she met Llamas her first husband. Her other acting credits include “Charmed”, “The Deviants” and “Shauna Sand Exposed”.

Most of us know someone like Shauna Sand, a balls-to-the-wall woman juggling a career, motherhood and a turbulent home life whose idea of decompressing after a grueling day isn’t a glass of wine but a toke (or three) of marijuana—not just every now and again, but on a regular basis.

If you peek inside the envelope in her bag you will find medical grade cannabis–she’s the type who stashes a vaporizer to discreetly toke anywhere without anyone even noticing.  According to a recent study by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, an estimated 8 million American women used cannabis in the past year—a lowball figure that reflects only those willing to admit to it.

Among the users polled are the upper-middle-class set: One in five women who admitted to indulging in the previous month lives in a household earning more than $75,000 a year. They cut a wide swath across the professional spectrum, including not only actresses but also physicians, teachers, lawyers,  TV producers, and financial leaders. That’s a stark contrast to what the negative stereotype has been in the past. The modern cannabis consumer looks nothing like the blotto hippie teens of Dazed and Confused or the unemployed, out-of-shape coach potatoes who are a staple of the Judd Apatow canon. By all outward appearances, they are card-carrying, type A workaholics who just happen to prefer kicking back with a vaporizer full of fine herbs instead of a bottle.

As for this particular stiletto stoner, let’s hope Shauna Sand’s medical cannabis use has a positive impact on her home life easing her stress issues naturally.
